A DAY BEFORE MODERN TIMES
Three Button Blazer
Dark "Mi-laine" Twill
FABRIC
Fully lined French « Mi-Laine » Twill (55% cotton 45% wool) winter jacket. This fabric is woven for the brand in France, using late 19th century industrial looms, reproducing the historic feel and durability known to be characteristic of French vintage workwear garments. Fully lined in densely woven French Toile (65% Cotton 35% Linen), providing a highly durable and textured historic feeling fabric.
FIT AND CONSTRUCTION
Fitted body with an anatomic 3 piece sleeve design, hand pad stitched peak lapel and collar using wool / goat hair / viscose canvassing. Highly practical design with its 2 inseam inside pockets and 3 outside inseam pockets, featuring the signature slanted welt. The jacket is cut with double side vents, working button cuffs sleeves and 3 buttons front closure. Cut and constructed with traditional tailoring craft, the extra seam allowance offers the possibility to alter the jacket’s size and fit.
The vents and cuffs lining are hand sewn with silk cord, offering both an artisanal finish and freedom for the fabric to live with the wearer.
TREATMENT
Artisanal dark hand dyed « Mi-Laine » fabric, requiring time and expertise, allowing for this beautiful textured finish, using heat resulting a slightly felted fabric.
The lining is dyed separately from the shell, using natural Oak tree, Hornbeam and Bramble leafs to create a print, oxidized with iron.
FINISHING
Handsewn keyhole silk buttonholes in the front and cuffs, with 7 natural dark horn buttons.
