FRENCH AMERICANA

This collection draws inspiration from the vintage Americana culture, seen through my French eyes. 

 

In these handmade garments, I’m experimenting on new kinds of fabric treatment, working around the idea of the passing of time, through oxidation with natural indigo, iron and rust, as well as other natural and artisanal dye treatment.

 

This collection features the full extent of my artisanal work, working from natural fibers exclusively, woven in France on vintage industrial looms. The historical workwear fabrics are cut and sewn into garments using tailoring techniques, creating pieces that are in between both of these worlds.

 

These pieces intend to bring the soul and character that late 19th century garments were carrying, both from a texture to a construction perspective.
