FRENCH AMERICANA
One Button Blazer
Cachou Grey/Brown Organic Cotton/Linen
FABRIC
French organic cotton and linen summer jacket, half lined with stripped Italian viscose/acetate, featuring alternating patchwork of twill and herringbone weave. These fabrics are woven for the brand in France, using late 19th century industrial looms, reproducing the historic feel and durability known to be characteristic of French vintage workwear garments.
FIT AND CONSTRUCTION
Fitted body with an anatomic 3 piece sleeve design, hand pad stitched notch lapel and collar using wool / goat hair / viscose canvassing. Highly practical design with its 2 inseam inside pockets and 3 outside patch pockets, featuring the signature sharp diagonal cuts. The jacket is cut with double side vents, working button cuffs sleeves and one button front closure. Cotton inside tape is used for finishing to allow tailors to alter the jacket’s size and fit.
TREATMENT
Garment dyed using natural Cachou (Acacia tree bark), oxidized with iron. This hand dye process takes up to 6 hours and creates this unique color and patina. Cachou is one of the historic natural dyes used on linen French workwear garments.
FINISHING
Handsewn keyhole silver silk buttonholes with 5 burnt natural horn buttons.
